FAQ [ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ]
GENERAL
Who is DETAC Arms?
DETAC Arms builds AR-platform shotgun systems and a proprietary rimless 12-gauge shotshell, designed to bring AR-15/AR-10-style reliability, modularity, and controls to shotgun platforms.
What products does DETAC currently offer?
The RS-10 rimless shotgun system, the MB-10 CQB shotgun, the 12 GA Auto shotshell, and the C-UAS Deployment Kit, a complete counter-drone package built around the RS-10.
What makes DETAC's approach different from a traditional shotgun?
Traditional 12-gauge shells are rimmed, which limits reliable feeding and extraction in autoloading, box-fed systems. DETAC's 12 GA Auto is rimless and all-polymer, enabling true AR-style feeding, extraction, and ejection, something shotguns have never had.
What is the RS-10?
A true AR-platform 12-gauge shotgun that shares its charging handle, gas system, and bolt carrier group with its AR-10 rifle counterpart.
What lower receiver does the RS-10 use?
Any DPMS Gen1 AR-10 pattern lower.
How much does the RS-10 weigh?
7.6 lbs.
Can the RS-10 fire calibers other than 12-gauge?
Yes, the upper can be swapped in seconds to run 7.62x51mm or 6.5 Creedmoor.
What ammunition does the RS-10 use?
DETAC's 12 GA Auto rimless shotshell, in 2.75 inch lead and tungsten loads, fed from a detachable box magazine.
What is the RS-10 designed to be used for?
Combat, breaching, counter-UAS, and less-lethal applications.
What is the MB-10?
A compact CQB shotgun built for breaching and close-quarters use, sharing the RS-10's rimless-shell technology in a more compact form factor.
How does the MB-10 differ from the RS-10?
The MB-10 is the compact, entry-focused variant, purpose-built for room clearing and breaching. The RS-10 is the full-length platform built for broader combat, C-UAS, and breaching roles.
What magazine options does the MB-10 support?
5-round and 8-round polymer magazines.
Can the MB-10's upper be swapped for other calibers?
Yes, it can be configured for 7.62x51mm or 8.6 Blackout.
What is the 12 GA Auto shell?
The world's first rimless, all-polymer 12-gauge shotshell, engineered to feed and extract reliably in AR-style, box-fed platforms.
Is the 12 GA Auto compatible with standard loading equipment?
Yes, it's designed to work with existing loading components and processes, with no specialized equipment required.
Does the 12 GA Auto meet industry (SAAMI) specifications?
Yes, it's tested to meet or exceed SAAMI 12-gauge 2.75 inch specs for dimensions, velocity, and pressure.
What is the shell made of, and why does that matter?
A single, marine-grade, corrosion-resistant polymer. This promotes smoother feeding, extraction, and ejection, and
unlike traditional multi-material hulls, is easier to recycle.
What load types are available?
Hunting, defense, and tactical loads, including lead and tungsten options. The C-UAS Deployment Kit specifically includes Urban (35m) and Field (80m) variants.
C-UAS Deployment Kit
What's included in the C-UAS Deployment Kit?
An RS-10 rimless shotgun system, your choice of EOTech XPS2 or Thales XTRAIM thermal optic, a Pelican V770 case, 12 GA Auto ammunition (Urban at 35m and Field at 80m variants), five 8-round magazines, and a cleaning kit. An armorer's kit is available on request.
How does the Deployment Kit address counter-UAS threats?
It's positioned as a hard-kill alternative to electronic-warfare (EW) countermeasures. EW effectiveness is dropping against cheap, resilient drones, so the kit gives operators a reliable, mechanical way to neutralize aerial threats when detection or EW fails.
